The University of Miami's Department of Social work (DOCS) 4 student run free centers: the Caridad Clinic in Boynton Beach, the Center for Haitian Research Studies (CHS) Clinic in Little Haiti, the CONCEPT DOCS Night Center in Overtown, and the San Juan Bosco (SJB) Center in Allapattah. All provide special opportunities for medical students to provide back to the community, get mentorship from physicians, and gain experience in functioning as an integral part of the health care team.
SJB Center supplies care to a varied immigrant community primarily from Latin America and the Caribbean, while CHS serves locals and Haitian immigrants in the Little Haiti neighborhood.
